Studio Thimbles - sewing classes Perth: what do users think?

Angelina Lazakar: I did the beginners class and I had zero experience but the desire to start up a new hobby. The best part about this course is that everything is provided so I could just bring myself and learn everything as I go. From the first class onwards, there’s a sense of accomplishment because I made something! The teachers are all very knowledgeable and friendly. It was the highlight of my Friday nights and something I looked forward too every week.

Derya Erkut: Learning to sew is very fun and comfortable for me. Olga is very helpful and teaches many tricks. Also, I feel very lucky in the course.

Hannah Brayshaw: I cannot recommend Studio Thimbles more highly. In the Level 1 course, I went from absolute beginner to sewing my cushion cover, tote bag and even a skirt - which is actually professional enough to wear! All fabrics and machines provided in a airy, bright and welcoming studio. I went at my own pace, and never felt rushed. Small groups, and an instructor who was always right there for help, tips, and encouragement, made the course easy and the projects achievable. Olga owns and runs the studio, and even gave me a one-to-one catch-up session when I missed the first week. I loved how supportive and personal this course was, and I am looking forward to starting the Level 2 course.

Melissa Gardiner: Having just completed the sewing courses for levels 1, 2 and 3, I can highly recommend Studio Thimbles. Among other highlights, the equipment is top notch, the creations are personally tailored and provide an opportunity to learn and master key sewing skills and, most importantly, the teachers are great - we were lucky enough to score the knowledgeable, friendly and patient, Daniela. If you’re interested in learning, refreshing or advancing your sewing skills in a fun and relaxing environment, Studio Thimbles is the place to go!

Theresa Khorshid: My 2 daughters had a school holiday session with Olga. She was amazing- they have come home with a beautiful skirt, scrunchies, and a ton more confidence about making something. The studio has so many machines, and they loved the day. Cannot recommend highly enough.

TN D: I had such a great time at the beginners sewing course. Thank you!Denise was excellent and very funny.I am so happy with my creations and can’t wait to create more!

Si Xian: and my teacher was Daniela. She is approachable and willing to share her knowledge. Studio Thimbles is a great place to take the first step towards sewing, a life skill that is also very rewarding. ☺️

Daniel Richards: It's great! Highly recommended for anyone interested in sewing. The classes are really well structured, so you're not only learning new things, but also reinforcing your existing knowledge, and you end up with your own awesome creations at the end of it. I've thoroughly enjoyed completing the first level, and looking forward to the next one 🙂

resery1: and now feel so much more confident in my ability to follow simple patterns to make my own clothes. I started the course not even knowing how to thread a sewing machine and now I proudly wear the top and pants that I made. The course is laid out in such a way that you learn a new skill with each project, whilst continuing to practice and put into place the skills you learnt the previous week

Elena Nayko: Thanks for such great and friendly sewing classes. As the beginner, I learned a lot about a sewing machine and basic techniques. So now I can make basic clothes alterations at home without any issues.Highly recommend!!!

Denise Hynd: As an older self taught sewer I learnt some new things and Denise was very accommodating of my different approach to to others!

Gai Newbury: Loved, loved my experience at Studio Thimbles, Beginners Sewing Course Level one. Being very much a novice, Olga gave me the confidence to use a sewing machine without "kangarooing" too much!! And Olga's practical advice with buying a sewing machine gave me the confidence to buy my own which in itself can be very overwhelming. Olga's hacks and tips just made learning to sew simple and easy and being in a small group gave Olga more time to help with the frequent questions! Thanks Olga!

Ree Anderson: Olga and Daniela are patient and knowledgeable sewing teachers to help first time sewers to gain confidence with a sewing machine. The classes are well planned and offered in small group sizes allowing one on one instruction and guidance. I learned so much from the beginner class, now I have 4 projects in fun fabric as well the basics to continue sewing.

Lorna Stewart: I look forward to my sewing classes each week. Olga is kind and caring and encourages us at every step, I learn so much from her. All you need for your creations is provided in the first class.I have learned to make cushion covers, aprons, skirts, tops, dresses, trousers and am now making classic Peter Alexander style pj’s complete with piping! These classes have given me confidence to make my own clothes from patterns at home and skills I have learnt have allowed me to fit my own clothes to myself better. I also have confidence using a sewing machine and overlocker.

Rupinder Kaur: Amazing teachers and great environment. Thank you Olga, Denise and Daniela for making my learning journey a wonderful one! I highly recommend Studio Thimbles.

Alison McCrystal: Phenomenal experience for a rookie sewer, and that I certainly am!The class atmosphere is fun and encouraging. No questions are daft and there are no mishaps here, they are just learning experiences in which to gain confidence from. Will be booking myself into L2 for sure 😋

N Krahe: My daughter had the most wonderful day learning to sew with Olga! She said they were having so much fun the day flew by and they didn’t want to stop for lunch, just keep sewing! Olga’s patience and enthusiasm inspired her so much she is now sewing at home and her new skills and confidence means she is successfully making things on her own. Thank you, we will definitely be back!
