Kathy is a phenomenal behaviour consultant and was able to help us achieve a huge improvement in our new rescue dog's behaviour within just two sessions. When we adopted our dog, he was reactive towards other dogs and some people. He would bark, growl and lunge when he saw another dog and we were in a constant state of anxiety when taking him for a walk. During our first session with Kathy, she introduced him to her most placid / aloof husky to assess his behaviour and quickly identified that he was actually highly interested in other dogs. His reactivity was primarily caused by frustration that he couldn't approach other dogs quickly enough! She taught us techniques to calm him down and then reward him by looking at or interacting with her dogs; introducing him one at a time to her more playful huskies as the session went on. By the end of the first session, he was off the lead playing with one of her more energetic huskies! By the end of our second session, he was off the lead playing with 3 or 4 of her dogs all at the same time. Of course, this was only possible because Kathy had correctly identified that our dog was not aggressive in nature and had given us the correct tools to manage these new situations. Our English Staffy was difficult to walk on a lead, he loved to pull our arms out of our sockets and jump on people when they came to our house. He was boisterous and very dominate towards us.Program 2 was suggested for our staffy and we seriously cannot believe how much this has changed our dog's behavior. 4worldlovers: In 2015 my young dog Bear was demonstrating reactivity towards other dogs. Despite extensive training with two local companies Bear’s issues were still unresolved. Wanting a better life for my dog I begin educating myself and in a short space of time was able to all rectify all reactivity. So much so that Bear now works as a cognitive behaviour therapy dog to help other reactive dogs for our company.

I believe that the difference between a good trainer and a great trainer is strong and quantifiable foundation of knowledge and experience. Which is why I hold a Diploma in Advanced Canine Behaviour and one in Canine Health & Nutrition from The British College of Canine Studies plus other qualifications in Dog Training and Psychology as well as canine first aid.

Simplifying the overall approach to training has meant that people of all abilities and ages can easily grasp and master the concepts we teach.

A dog wants to know and understand its place within its environment, and wants to be able to respond effectively to you as its owner. If you don’t understand your dogs requirements then it is very likely that your dog will become confused and anxious. This often leads to the dog developing bad habits and issues such as aggressive, dominant, destructive or fearful behaviour. It therefore follows that your dog becomes a reflection of your approach to dog ownership.

A dog is a living breathing, thinking animal, with feelings and needs which you as an owner should ensure you understand. Training your dog will point its energy in the right direction by providing the correct physical and mental stimulation. You will build a bond very quickly as your dog will see you as a strong, confident and consistent leader, and therefore be able to respond quickly and accurately to you. An intelligent dog rarely wants to please an owner they don’t respect.

Our Phase 1 training program involves a structured series of 7 sessions that achieve fast, consistant results in and around your home. These sessions take into consideration not only obedience but also history, environment & bad habits, as well as your expectations as an owner. As all dogs and owners are unique we work with you to ensure the sessions are tailored to your needs and and lifestyle.

Behavioural modification is included in the 7 session program & involves identifying the reason behind the unwanted behaviour. We develop an ongoing strategy for long term positive outcomes. This provides you with an understanding of why these behaviours developed in the first place, your dogs perception of it’s environment and how to effectively extinguish these behaviours.

We commence the training program from 12-16wks of age which helps to get you and your puppy off to a great start. We explaining how to prepare for your new arrival, what they will need from you, how they perceive our world and what you can do to make the transtion of a new member to your family easier.
