4worldlovers: Dance Workshop is Perth’s only dance studio providing dance classes exclusively to adults and mature-age students.

For over thirty years, we’ve offered a safe, non-judgemental and non-competitive environment for those who love to dance. We teach students from 18 to 80 years of age, with skills ranging from absolute beginner to seasoned professionals.

We provide dance classes in a wide variety of non-partner dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Stilettos, Flamenco, Bollywood, Theatre Jazz, and more. Check out our timetable of casual drop-in classes for a variety of levels from Beginners to Advanced dancers in various styles. Dancers are welcome to join these classes at any time without any long-term commitment.

We also have 6-week dance courses specifically designed for the complete novice adult student. These 6-week BASICS courses cover the following styles: Tap, Jazz/Dance, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Flamenco (depending on numbers).

From time to time we offer repertoire workshops as well as workshops taught by international and eastern states guest teachers. Students have the opportunity to participate in our annual performance showcase in a state-of-the-art theatre before a live (and loving) audience.

Wedding choreographic services are also available if you need a bespoke wedding dance or flashmob, or just want to learn a few basic steps to raise your confidence on the dance floor. Ps. Dance Workshop is known for doing pretty awesome proposal flashmobs if you’re planning on asking the big question.

This course will break down the basics of dancing in heels in a step by step 6-week course (no previous dance experience necessary).

A variety of drop-in daytime and evening classes throughout the week and weekend. Exclusively for adults and mature age students.

We aim to provide a safe, non-competitive, non-judgemental space where adult dance students can learn to dance in properly planned and executed dance classes.

We don’t do “dance inspired” aerobics, and we don’t offer exercise classes just for the sake of moving. Our teachers are focused on quality dance tuition covering technique and performance, all while having fun at the same time.

We are Perth’s only dance studio that caters exclusively to adult students. Our teachers understand that adults learn and process information differently to each other and to children. All our classes are designed with this in mind.

In the same way, other students in the class are in the same boat as you, or at least have been at some stage. So everyone, teachers and students alike, understand that each person is participating in a way that is comfortable for them.

Casa Del Compás is the largest Spanish dance school in Western Australia. The name translates to “house of the beat” and reflects the warm and welcoming, yet exciting and dynamic atmosphere that permeates each and every class.

Established in 2005, the Bibra Lake studio offers flamenco dance classes for all ages and levels. Students also have the opportunity to participate in studio showings or “tablao” evenings, at the biennial school concert, and at various community events. As well, Casa Del Compás regularly hosts intensive Flamenco workshops with national and international guest artists.

4worldlovers: Danza Viva is honoured to welcome Tomas Arroquero to Perth to run Flamenco workshops for the first time in nearly a decade. Tomas was last teaching in Perth in 2014 and it was an amazing experience for Danza Viva students and the wider Perth Flamenco community. His choreographies are unique and his teaching style is both intelligent and intuitive. As a teacher we have found that Tomas’ visits have a lasting positive impact on our work and our motivation levels going forward and that we are performing his choreographies for many years to come.

Tomas began dancing in Australia before moving to Spain in 1993, where he lived, studied and worked at the source of flamenco for 20 years. He undertook formal training at El Centro de Arte Flamenco y Danza Española Amor de Dios for 7-years. While studying with founding members Maria Magdalena, El Ciro and Paco Romero, Tomas worked in theatre and tablao settings across Spain and Europe. Performance highlights include a season at the prestigious tablao Casa Patas, Madrid; Royal Concert Hall, Dublin; Gasteig Cultural Centre, Munich; Hackney Empire, Laban Centre and sharing the stage with Tomatito at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Principal Julie and her team of instructors believe that dancing is best learnt in a fun and encouraging environment, with routines used as a guide only. With this in mind Danza Pasion helps people feel and move to the rhythm of the music and encourages the use of freestyle movements. Even at the most advanced levels of learning, routines are only used to display what can be achieved rather than restrict the dancer. While Salsa is sometimes used to describe a number of Latin dances, it specifically refers to a dance style developed by Puerto Rican and Cuban immigrants to New York in the ’60s and ’70s with music based on traditional Afro-Cuban songs and embellished with brass and percussion instruments.

Salsa Viva Dance Studio’s lead instructors have international teaching experience – backed by degree qualifications – in Cuban Salsa and a wide range of other Latin dance styles. Classes range from individual tuition to wedding parties and larger practice groups.

We also perform at live events for charity fundraisers, corporate events, parties and more.

Salsa Viva Dance Studio is also Perth’s original Zumba school, with proprietor Cindy Calderón learning from Zumba Founder, Beto Perez in 2008.
