The development of the Perth CBD has historically been built on an east-west alignment. Elizabeth Quay returns the city’s focus to the river and - together with Perth City Link, Yagan Square, the Perth Cultural Centre and a range of other public and private developments – extend the CBD north- south. These landmark projects are expanding our city’s grid and adding density to our CBD to create a more connected, vibrant Perth.

Elizabeth Quay is located on the edge of the picturesque Swan River, between Barrack and William streets in the heart of Perth CBD. Look for the Bell Tower to find Barrack Street Jetty.

Elizabeth Quay is only a short stroll from the Perth CBD and is easily accessible by public transport.

The Elizabeth Quay Train Station and Busport (formerly The Esplanade Station) is located across the road from Elizabeth Quay and just 400m from Barrack Street Jetty. Exit the train station/busport on The Esplanade and walk east until you reach the quay, or continue towards Barrack Street (300m), turn right and head south towards the river (100m) to find Barrack Street Jetty.

Take the free CAT bus right to Barrack Street Jetty's front door or get off at the Elizabeth Quay Busport over the road. The blue CAT runs in a north south direction between Barrack Street Jetty (stop 18) and Northbridge all week:

The inlet is home to twenty-four short stay boat moorings for public use.

To enter the inlet, recreational boats must be able to pass under the pedestrian bridge. The bridge provides a clearance of 4.5m off the water which will allow most 12m and 10m boats with a flybridge into the inlet at all stages of the tide.

The eighteen short stay moorings are available to the public for stays of three hours or less. Visitors should be aware that the availability of the short stay berths may be affected by water based events.

Ten new swing moorings have been installed just outside the inlet opening to accommodate larger vessels.

There are many walk trails that lead you through jarrah, marri, flooded gums, swamp peppermint and paperbark trees and the spooky Swan View Tunnel. You might even see some of the native wildlife such as the western grey kangaroos lazing in the park.

Bring your bicycle to explore the Railway Reserves Trail or walk one of the other many trails, visit the lookouts and capture that perfect pic for Instagram of the views of Perth and the Swan Coastal Plain.

Plan when to visit. Read this safety information about bushwalking and horse riding. Consider traveling with a personal location beacon (PLB). In the event you need to be rescued it could save your life!

The park has many waterfalls and risk areas. Extreme caution must be undertaken to avoid slippage and falling in such areas.

To ensure visitors can continue to experience and enjoy the park, some improvements will be made which will revitalise and diversify the activities available to visitors.
