We had been to previous dog training classes elsewhere with our older dog and found that it didn’t quite deliver on what we hoped - especially given our older dog’s needs. When we adopted George we did more research on puppy training and wanted someone who specialised more in this area. We are so glad we picked Kelly and her team! We booked the drop-in puppy sessions - she has a 5 for 4 deal, and found George has benefited so much, we even booked a 6th class, which would then lead us into the silver training, which will also be run by Kelly - this is how pleased we are with Kelly and her team! We wanted to ensure George was well socialised, meaning he learns how to interact appropriately with other dogs and also that he builds a stronger bond with us - thank you Kelly for helping us achieve this! George was reactive (barking) at other dogs when we arrived and immediately Kelly approached and gave us instructions/advice on how to help manage this behaviour. Our English Staffy was difficult to walk on a lead, he loved to pull our arms out of our sockets and jump on people when they came to our house. He was boisterous and very dominate towards us.Program 2 was suggested for our staffy and we seriously cannot believe how much this has changed our dog's behavior. We've been increasingly impressed with our dog's behaviour since attending boot camp. She is now so much more relaxed and well behaved. At 45 years old and never having lived with a dog in my life, we purchased a Cane Corso puppy ‘Nero’. Nero had the potential to be 60kg fully grown so given Nero’s potential size and my total lack of experience with dogs, I was determined to make it work and have a highly trained dog. My husband Pete (who had dogs years ago) chose Colleen and the team at Manners ‘n’ More for the job.


What I didn’t realise was that it is as important to train the human, if not more important, than training Nero.


We started on our training journey at Puppy Kindy, had one-on-one sessions and graduated to the next level of training. Every week Colleen worked with us all, encouraged me and helped me to build my much needed confidence, taught us new methods, training techniques and play tactics so we could live in harmony with our new furry friend.


Thanks to all the team at Manners ‘n’ More we learned how to live life to the fullest with our canine companion in the most enjoyable, healthy and safe way and had lots of fun and laughter in the process.

Kathy is a phenomenal behaviour consultant and was able to help us achieve a huge improvement in our new rescue dog's behaviour within just two sessions. When we adopted our dog, he was reactive towards other dogs and some people. He would bark, growl and lunge when he saw another dog and we were in a constant state of anxiety when taking him for a walk. During our first session with Kathy, she introduced him to her most placid / aloof husky to assess his behaviour and quickly identified that he was actually highly interested in other dogs. His reactivity was primarily caused by frustration that he couldn't approach other dogs quickly enough! She taught us techniques to calm him down and then reward him by looking at or interacting with her dogs; introducing him one at a time to her more playful huskies as the session went on. By the end of the first session, he was off the lead playing with one of her more energetic huskies! By the end of our second session, he was off the lead playing with 3 or 4 of her dogs all at the same time. Of course, this was only possible because Kathy had correctly identified that our dog was not aggressive in nature and had given us the correct tools to manage these new situations. She also made sure we were comfortable each step along the way. This result took us completely by surprise and it made us so happy to see our loving, affectionate dog behaving the way he does with us outside with strangers.
